STAR Puppy CLASS

(For dogs under 6 months)

For puppies under 6 months. The Berks Dog Training Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program follows the program designed by the American Kennel Club to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start.  Upon completion, an AKC certificate is available for purchase through their organization.
S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity and a Responsible owner, everything a puppy needs to have a good life. The class supports the puppy’s appropriate development through structured socialization, teaching the puppy the vocabulary of learning, guided activities, and educating you to become a responsible dog owner.
A typical class is a combination of activities, such as learning to SIT, WALK on a leash, DOWN, COME when called, structured play interaction with toys/handler, and some “at rest” time for the puppies while the owners are covering essential topics in the curriculum including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective teaching strategies for the puppy.
This class is for both pure and mixed breed puppies 8 weeks to 6 months.  Class size is limited to 8 puppies.  S.T.A.R. puppies then continue on to the Basic Skills Class, included in the fee.
INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE: $150 which includes 6 weeks of puppy class, 8 weeks of basic skills, plus the balance of the year as a member including weekly member training and more. There is a $2 online administration fee.
Classes held on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm for 6 weeks

Commonly asked questions:

Q- When is the next class?
A- Basic skills and STAR puppy are started 4 times a year, January, April, July and September. Special Needs is only available outdoors. So April and July. CGC is offered several times a year when there is a time slot open so call, Look for announcements or contact us thru the form.

Q- How do I become a member?
A- When you sign up and pay for a class you automatically are a member. If you are an experienced dog trainer and don't want to sign up for a class, you still pay the full amount of the tuition for Basic Skills and then you are "evaluated" to be sure you can function in our member classes without the Basic Skills class.
